Close, but not exactly what I intended to say. I wanted to say that my suggestion should have brought (?) the correct results.

This is my current phrase (incorrect) "What was the query you tried? I see that I forgot to group by Serial, but you still should have get results for all serials in your table, since I used left join from Data to something. I think you changed my query a bit.", I'm going to sleep and hopefully you can help me to re-write it in a proper English.
