>>Russell,
>>Have you tried to post your problem on the HP website? http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html -just follow the pages and eventually you will see the forum link on the left side. You may see some other drivers for 2420's that you might want to try.
>>Also, I don't know if they exist or not for the 2420 but we had to load(client side) the DOS driver for some HP LJ 1000's to get them to work.

>No I haven't done that. In the past, it was the HP supplied drivers that caused the problems. The Microsoft supplied versions worked without crashing VFP. And my networking guy is emphasizing that the Microsoft drivers still work best (as has another participant in this thread), but that's something I'll suggest to the network dudes. Thanks.

Are you bad luck? Really, I just got an email from one of my user sites - printer problem. I haven't had one in months. Here's the problem: There are several users at this same location and all have exactly the same equipment including printers. Now 4 of them that never used the remote application have a need to do so. 2 can print 2 can't. Logically doesn't this have to be a set up problem at their site?
Something else you might want to look at if you haven't aready is what printers connect when the user connects.
I'm really interested in your final solution.
