My application for TWAIN was more for capturing images via a webcam. I found some sample WIA code for VFP but it was testy and not reliable. I finally settled on VisioForge SDK (http://www.visioforge.com/) which allows for frame capturing from live video feeds. It bypasses the TWAIN drivers altogether and I can leave an "active" video monitor up which facilitates rapid image capturing.
