This one is pretty accessible. It came out in 1994 and put Wong Kar-wei on the map. He is from Hong Kong, not the mainland.
I am looking forward to "Slumdog Millionaire". Everyone says it will take Best Picture, which is pretty amazing for a low budget Indian film with no big names.
"The Reader", less so. I like Kate Winslet but the reviews have been mixed.
