That's pretty much of a red herring example they are using. Money math involves a fixed 4 decimal places. As long as one understands this there are no problems. It also points out an "error" in the decimal division handling, clearly an intermediate type other than decimal(19,4) is being used because otherwise the extra decimal places would not be visible after the division occured.

Money is a perfectly good datatype and should be used where it's appropriate.
