I had code in the activate event. But taken it out completely makes no difference.

However, I added a new page to the pageframe. Copied the controls from the culprit page to this new page. Now I jump to this page instead of page2. And no problem!!

Maybe the class (vcx/vct table) is corrupt?

I used to have an activex control there but that was ages ago. Just that Sergey mentioned it. I opened the vcx table, packed it still no difference. I think I will simply clean up the new page that's working and keep it there.

Agnes your suggestion to try it on a new page may well have saved the day. Subject to rigorous testing now).
