I am not sure what you mean by original functionality. But, the filtering has been adjusted across the site since the last few weeks, so this is probably why it was accepted before. Basically, if you filter some messages, as per the twit filter, category filter or thread filter, it would mean you no longer whis to be linked to those messages. So, in overall, if you wish to bypass one of those filters at any time, such as the option we have added in the calendar, and later on decide to reply on one of those messages, then you have to agree that there isn't much I can do about it. My point is that the bypass of the category filter should not appear in the calendar and you should revise the way you filter your categories.
