>If my application runs entirely on forms, and the CLEAR EVENTS command goes in the click event of the exit button of a form, where does the READ EVENTS command go? And if my main program file is a form, why doesn't that stop the foxpro screen from flashing onto the desktop when I run the .exe?

Peter, Mark, Ed and Craig have certainly explained about your READ EVENTS and CLEAR EVENTS. However if you wish to keep the MS VFP splash screen from showing in your EXE, start the EXE with the -t switch. Check Command-line Switches in the Help system.

And then (please) write a MAIN.PRG which calls your first form, issues the READ EVENTS and then calls a shutdown procedure when exiting.
