Placing dbfs on the server does not create a client server system. To do that you will need to use Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or some other server-based database system.

You will want to place the dbc, dbfs, fpts, cdxs, etc on the server, then use LOCAL views to access the data. Place the master exe on the server and copy it down to the local drive when it's updated. Use a loader program to do this. You'll find some loader programs in the files section here on the UT.
