I don't think so. In SQL2000 you have to run the SQL Profiler and run some queries on the table it can output to. But the profiler is not something you want running all the time, it can be a significant load on the server. We do use it to isolate performance hotspots to find stored procs that need optimization.
In SQL2005 and beyond these measures of performance are a lot easier to get at.
