Maybe you should leave with California.
>When Texas first joined the US in 1849, it was granted two provisions that no other state ever had. The first being the ability to leave and become its own country again and the second was the possibility of breaking up into 5 states (given the land mass that is Texas). Remember, if you flip Texas up over the Texas/Oklahoma border Brownsville would be 8 miles from the Canadian border and if you flipped it westward from El Paso, Houston would sit on LA.

>>I am not that familiar with the specifics of Texas, but do know that it is thought to be unique by some. Hawaii and Alaska have made similar arrertions.

>>>I meant the ability to break from the United States to become it's own State again. Up until the Civil War, Texas was the only state that could legally leave the Union and be 'the United States of Texas' again. If memory serves, and I don't swear it does, Texas also had to give up the option of breaking into 5 separate states at the same time.

>>>>>>The New Hampshire (as well as other states) are writing legislation that will limit the power of the federal gov't and return the power to the states where the constitution plainly intended for the bulk of power to be placed.

>>>>>Funny, that's one of the things that Texas had to give up to be allowed back into the Union after the Civil War (or, if you prefer, the War of Northern Aggression ;-))
