I went with report variables (on one report had over 100 of them), every field on report is a function one day when i have lots of time would like to revisit my reports and see if i can rewrite them as pure sql.

>>After posting I thought about and did what Al suggested. I hate report variables. I have 4 summary bands and 4 columns i have to do this to.

>You're welcome. Did you go with pre-computed columns in a cursor, or with report variables? I always use a cursor, the logic's all in one place and I find it easier to debug if something's wrong with my logic.
