The answer was to use the SQL Server ODBC driver for SQL 2000. If the SQL Native Client didn't include the SQL Server ODBC driver, you wouldn't be able to use it in a SPT or RV.
The confusion comes from the ODBC driver names.
'DRIVER=SQL Server' - the SQL Server ODBC driver for SQL 2000 (or earlier)
'Driver=SQL Native Client' - the SQL Server ODBC driver for SQL 2005
'Driver=SQL Server Native Client 10.0' - the SQL Server ODBC driver for SQL 2008
>In SQL2005 wasn't there a problem with SNAC and SPT with varchar(max) to memo fields in VFP? I don't have a PUTM so I can't do a search, but I am reasonably sure that when I had this problem I go the answer here on UT from Cetin or perhaps you saying this was a known problem and to use the ODBC driver.
