I've heard that the standard for work that has to be done on a PC is to go no higher than 24 inches. With that, you can easily obtain 1920x1080. This assumes a wide screen. I have purchased the Acer latest model. I have heard that's pretty much a standard on the market. I have tried several monitors before deciding to keep that one. You might want to do some searches here on a thread I have started in December. It covers a lot of useful tips.
