>>Saw an episode of Miami last night (can never be sure which series - as diff. ones diff. days - as well as NCIS - I sorta go by the existence and colour of Grissom's beard ). They got a prisoner's profile up on their all-seeing computer after zooming in on on the bar code on his wristband AND enhancing the tiny (would have been well greeked) name text above the bar code. This was from CCTV of their visiting time.
>>
>>In same episode, having got up a guy's DNA code the program then morphed the bars of the code into a picture of the guy - for Godssakes!

>I figure it's exactly what they're imagining... that they can just shuffle some DNA and get real people out of it, just like this sakes guy claimed he once did.

No He did it out of dirt, didn't he.

incidentally, I've noticed a lot that US use of teh word "dirt" refers to the soil, earth. e.g "dirt farmers", falling in the dirt. In the UK we call it soil or earth, never dirt. Dirt is reserved for the stuff that kids get on their clothes that their mothers complain will now have to be washed off. Also, if you were to fall to, say, a dusty, un-swept factory floor, or get on your hands and knees to beg for mercy, then that's being "in the dirt". IOW, the word "dirt" only has -ve connotations, as opposed to good, honest, productive "soil"

>Last night I had a real surprise, though, a piece of fine realism quite unexpected on the screen. I heard the real bicycle sounds in a movie.

>The movie was called "Blade runner".
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
