How do you create a connection to SQL Server? Do you have code that reconnects on SPT statement failure?

>We have a VFP 8 application that uses SQL Pass through to connect to a SQL 2000. The application is being run by over 30 clients. One client is getting a lot of deadlocks. From looking at their SQL they sometimes have users that are deadlocking themselves. When I drill down into it the same users have multiple SPID's in SQL. I don't see this at any of the other installs of our application. We have a check to not allow the application to start if it's already running and I put a check in to not allow login if the user id they are logging in with is already logged into SQL Server. (using sp_who) We create the user id and password based on a hash of their userid and password they sign in with so I doubt they are logging into SQL from any other means to SQL. It's also seems to be random what table the deadlock is on.
