You mean forensic labs haven't really got fingerprint comparison s/w that takes a partial print, fresh off a slide, reoriantates it to match, resizes it and fits it into one held on the database? And while the system is doing its search, it doesn't really uselessly display for a microsecond each print it looks at, accompanied by a beep for each one (to drive its user out of his mind!) rather than just displaying a thermo to indicate progress?

I thought our labs over here were hopelessly out-of-date cf the USA! ;-)
