You must have some other environmental factor going on...

create form timer1

drop a timer on it
set interval = 1000
put this code in the timer event

thisform.BackColor = rgb( rand()*255, rand()*255, rand()*255 )

add a command button to the form

set the click to

do form timer1

then run the form.. it'll sit there flashing backgrounds..

click the button

move the second form off the top of the first and you'll see two independently flashing forms
