Absolutely. If Microsoft had actually stood up and told developers outside of the Fox/VFP core that VFP was a viable database platform and ENCOURAGED THEM TO TRY IT, VFP would certainly have been a winner. Microsoft chose to keep VFP in the closet and encourage VFP developers to move to other platforms. Microsoft never marketed VFP - if anything they very actively worked to kill it. Seems very odd when they came out with excellent upgrades of the product, but that is what they did and they nailed the coffin very tightly shut.

I'd be amazed to see a VFP based development environment in any platform gain any developers outside of the VFP faithful. There is simply no reason for someone to invest time in learning a technology that at absolute best could be only a niche market.

No slight on eTecnologia intended. I think this could be a really cool product but I don't see anything more than a dim future for it.
