The thread mentioned by Nadya gives some interesting pointers.

I tried with the product from Microsoft, but couldn't make it work. I suspect I overlooked some minor detail.

The free download from http://www.pirmasoft.com/runassvc.php, on the other hand, is very easy to use, so logically there is less chance of screwing things up.

The only other thing you have to do is to invoke
SYS(2340,1)
in your Visual FoxPro program.
