Hello,

We are using VisualFoxPro 5.0a. We are creating a multiuser enviroment. In this enviroment one user can edit a record in a table whilst another user can read the same table and also the record but cannot edit it. At the moment we use RLOCK() to get a lock on a record within a table. However when we use a table which is in a database container the second user can change the record without any problems. If we use a free table (so not in the database container ;-)) and also put a lock on a record the other user trying to change that record gets an error message (like we want).

How is it that a table within a database container does not correctly use the RLOCK() command and a free table does?

We have SET EXCLUSIVE OFF and also open the tables with USE TABEL SHARED.

Thanks in advance for your time and feedback!

Greetings,
Michiel Willems
