Hi Brandon . Thanks for your reply.

In the partcular site, there is a peer to peer sever and a Pc hanging off the server.
Both machiones run the software from a network drive
The serial port is used to open a till

Both have serial cards installed.
One machine has never failed
The Problem machine fails infrquently, might be onece a day or three times a week.
I suppose it could be a fauilty serial port, or a faulty Cable or a faulty serial card,Faulty Till or some issue
with the software
The major problem is that when I use MsComm32 to 'send' stuff down to open the Till,
it hangs ,is not trapped by a Tr Catch , and Processor goes to about 60%
It sounds to me as if its trying to send and not stopping when it has difficulty
Maybe there is a timeout or something in MSCOMM ??

Regards,
Gerard
