>>With much help from UT participants (thanks guys) I have developed an approach to VFP-Word automation which works fine. (I use a one row FoxPro table as a standard data source to the merge document and fill the table with data just before the merge.)

I tried reinstalling her standalone Word program and I couldn't find anything about Data Access options. I also tried installing Office 97 Small Business Edition with similar results. Finally I installed my copy of Office 97 Professional which works.

The FOX2X won't help. I'm having the same problem with an application the was originally written to do a mai merge from Word 6 using a Fox 2.x table. When the desktops were upgraded to NT and Office 97 it no longer worked. The FoxPro Tables choice is not available in the drop down when creating a data source.

I downloaded the latest MS Data Access Components and it doesn't solve the problem. It installs all the ODBC drivers but Word still doesn't offer FoxPro as a choice. We did discover that we could use MS Query to get the data and it would work.
