Is this some sort of moderator peephole? The login activity only shows a table, probably the last activity datetime - and seems to cover last four hours. Or is this the definition of "user on site" - to be equal to "did anything on site in the last 4 hours".

I think we do need a definition (unless you have a moderator's page somewhere which shows the stuff in a more precise manner - maybe counting automatic refreshes for some sort of semi-activity?). Because in the stateless paradigm of the web you don't know if one is gone or not. There's no explicit logout (I even don't know how to log out of UT), and even where there is, nobody bothers. Logins expire. And you can't really count "who's here" because the answer is always zero. There's nobody here, everyone's at home. Counting unexpired logins is not practicable - we're used to have our UT window open in the morning, with answers to our yesterday's silliness waiting ready to be read. So we won't expire them. We'll just update the user's record with the timestamp every time they send a http request, and the login activity report will pick only those of the last four hours, and that's it. It doesn't even have a single word of explanation, and doesn't need any. Of the two words in the title, one is wrong (this is not "login activity", this is "any activity", or else it wouldn't show me as having logged in a minute ago; I logged in on Tuesday or thereabouts).

Related to my not-so-original post, newsflash: one discretion has hired an advisor.
