Control Panel->Device Manager->Ports Select the specific comm port then right click and choose Properties, then Port Settings tab, Advanced Button. From here you can reduce or turn off FIFO buffers.
You will need to reboot the computer for this change to take effect.


Disabling a comm port's FIFO reduces its data throughput, but can sometimes clearup wierd comm errors/problems.
