Yes there is, as others have said it is an ActiveX control. Which unless my eyes mistake me was originally created in VB.

It is a pretty nifty little tool. It publishes its properties through a design time property sheet where the number of panels and their default contents can be set. Once set, their properties can be manipulated just like any other property. I have supplanted the (Wait Window) with the ActiveX status control.
