Ok, Tore, thank you, but at this particular stage there are no Forms involved - and even if there were, the VFP process would still be running afterwards, wouldn't it?

But, in the absence of a direct solution, I think that I'll gather your suggestions and remarks and put up some kind of a semaphore mechanism to get there.
