Antonio,

I have solved that the other way

If an update is available (and the user wants the update), I start another exe passing the directory and parameters to restart

The update is a screen with choices
- download
- restart app

If the restart app is clicked I restart the original exe (I have the start directory and paramters)

So, in case this is automated, restart the original exe after the download
