Thanks for all your input, but the problem with your solution is that I need 3 pages in my form at design time. In my real world solution the form class has zero pages, and the live forms have between 2 and 15 pages as each form is different. Also it's not a simple pageframe but one contained in VFPx ThemedOutlookNavBar. Controlling that many pages from within the init events and adding the controls at that stage would not work from a design point of view.

As other much more experience that I have stated in this thread there is clearly an issue and a work around is required. That for the moment seems to be to call my environment code in the BeforeOpenTables event.
