Is there a way to use WordPad in 95 or NT for mail merge operation in VFP 5.0 / 6.0?

My office doesn't have a standard word processing program that all use, so I am trying to think of ways to conduct mail merge without using an additional word processing program. I currently us Memo field with text and a translation substitution program to merge fields into memo text, but the has obvious draw backs...one of which is the inability to have special character formatting.
