OK, finished laughing. On a more serious note; the analogy would be more like this: a person goes into hospital on the verge of death with multiple organ failure. However the cause is not known exactly and neither the cure since this condition is unheard of in the medical field. The head of staff calls in his top advisors who agree on a plan which is essentially an extension / expansion of the plan the previous head of staff already started a few months ago (the previous head of staff is also suspected of having caused the outbreak becasue he was directing things for the previous 8 years but we'll leave that for another movie plot :) Will the cure work? No one knows because of the uniqueness of the disease. If only the head of staff had called in his VFP team – they apparently know the answer to everything :)
