>I have had a similar case, in my situation the 1st form had an ActiveX control and the second form had a RTF control and the second form was being called from a shortcut menu. My solution was to execute the "DO FORM" from the 1st form, not the shortcut menu.

Thanks Scott for your response. All this is class based so the modal form is instantiated and a oForm.Show(). In any case neither of the 2 involved form have ActiveX controls on it. The 2 places that this can be called is the toolbar button click() or the class-based menu click() but both of them call the method on the data-entry form to instantiate the modal form.
