>And you are not there yet? :o) If you can swing it on the pay, then I say go for it. :o) However, what happens when the contract goes out? Are there other possibilities there? Is there any possibility of learning a new toolset while you are on that contract to increase your employment opportunities when that job runs out?

The same question ran through my mind before I came to Memphis. The job here was to last for years, but things change. I figure if one has to relocate, it might as be in a place they will enjoy. I definitely plan to set aside funds to relocate if it comes to it. Besides, the last guy was hired on the same conditions and was there for 4 years before he left by chose (family matters).

As for learning a new toolset. I plan to dedicate myself to something other then VFP. Perhaps .Net (C# / ASP.Net), PHP, or something that makes me more marketable. Spend my spare time studying. At 49 years of age, that will be a first. Even when I was in school, I never had to study. The courses always seem so obvious to me. I tutored others more then I learned the stuff. For example, This afternoon I read a tutorial on PL/SQL and most of it seem straight forward.

I plan to retire sometime, and if it happens in Hawaii, more the better.
