By end of last April we had a tornado day here, and the unlucky ones were left pretty much homeless - the matchbox and spit McMansions were shredded like so much matchboxes... then it skipped a school and ground the next house beyond the school. Or a street where one old shop was laid flat - roof knee high but otherwise in one piece, next building without left and right walls but the rest in place, what with sheets on the bed upstairs etc - while just across the street there were flowerpots hanging from window sills and not a petal missing. Hit and miss, at pretty much random.

In another place I've seen eight tall pines on a ridge felled - and the rest of the trees left and right had no damage at all. Weird.
