We considered it more of a love affair than a war. It was an interesting time. I had the apartment, and I can remember many a time going to bed at maybe 2:00am with a couple of people sleeping on the couch and maybe one or two more on chairs, and waking up in the morning to a roomful of people sleeping all over the place.

I recall once walking along Yorkville Ave one evening and running into a guy I didn't know very well (friend of a friend of a friend) and stopped to say hi. He told me that there was going to be a party at 802 Friday night. I was unaware of it until then, and 802 was my apartment number. Turned out he was right though. My paycheque went for rent and ice cream sandwiches.
