>>>Check your private messages :o) I posted a link but then realized I couldn't remember if it was ok to post links to other forums here or not so I removed it.

>>thanks, and based on reading that message on the other forum I am even more certain this is a real person who probably stumbled away bewildered and dismayed that what she thought would be a professional forum was a weird adolescent psychodrama.

>The only thing that made me suspicious (and I would never even question it in the thread because it is better to give the benefit of a doubt for any new member who may be innocently looking for help) is the photo. I've seen that photo before, but I cannot, for the life of me, remember where. It may even have been another forum. It could have even been the same person (the real person no less) where-ever I saw it.

>Besides, I don't know of any other forum which requires a member to 1) use their real identity and 2) verify their identity. Which means, so what if it was or was not the person who he/she claimed to be?

My personal preference on a professional forum is that people use their real identities including their real, grownup name. I don't really want to have technical discussions with squigglyguy26 or bongbong11. (especially bongbong - the Marcos family once plotted against me)

I guess the thing that creeped me out was that a woman posted a picture so evidently people ran off and googled to see if this could somehow be true. I know there are guys here that think you are really a kid named Irving who lives in his parent's basement with his collection of StarTrek "Action Figures".

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
