Whoops, my bad! This is what I get for using last year's documentation (I like the style of the help file better). Here's what the 1997 version of the Win 32 SDK said:

"EWX_FORCE Forces processes to terminate. Instead of bringing up the 'application not responding' dialog box for the user, this value forces an application to terminate if it does not respond."

That's it, no warning, nothing.

As a side note, I my mention of WM_SHUTDOWN wasn't directed to you, but it had been mentioned again in a previous message in the thread.
