I though the context was the US being demonized both internally and externally for its wealth and huge debt/deficit which we accumulated partly by overindulgence and mismanagement, the other by giving away trillions to countries to liberate or support them so they can "catch" up to us economic wise to aleviate our guilt for having it so good, an affliction I do not suffer from.
