>"A bill of attainder (also known as an act or writ of attainder) is an act of legislature declaring a person or group of persons guilty of some crime and punishing them without benefit of a trial. Bills of attainder are forbidden by Article I, section 9, clause 3 of the United States Constitution."

This "law" shows that democracy itself does not guarantee freedom and taxation is the way for totalitarian minded 'progressives' to go around any constitution. It opens way to the next generation of laws, for example, that any radio station transmitting context they don't like should be subjected to 90% tax.
It is not publisized in politically correct history books, but one should know that private property in Soviet Union was not directly outlawed. It was eliminated through taxation.
