Get a copy of TweakUI, and use that to restore your Desktop copy. It's on the Win98 CD, or downloadable from MS' Web site. You also may be able to fix things by going into the Active Desktop settings from the Display .CPL, but I haven't tried this.

I can't duplicate either of these problems under either Win98 or NT, but you may be running something I'm not, or you may have an earlier build than I'm running. What builds are you running for Mail and IE4?

I assume that you're using the VS release, not the RC from back in the July MSDN.
