What am I doing wrong?

In the following code:

CLEAR

SET CENTURY off

w_dt = {1/1/09}

@ 1,2 say SET('cent')
@ 1,50 say w_dt

The following displays on line 1:

  OFF                                            1/1/2009

Shouldn't is say 1/1/09?
