Thanks Naomi, but I just don't see any mention of these print dialogs in either thread--but I've been staring at this screen for more hours than I care to admit lately so could have missed it. DisplayAlerts has no effect upon the behavior, at least when background printing is disabled at the document level. It's impossible to disable background printing at the application level due to an apparent bug in Word 2007 (documented on a couple of Microsoft forums.) Did I miss something in your post? I hope so because these dialogs are intrusive!
