Metin,

BMPs are recommended only for really small images, smaller than 25x25 pixels.
For storage and quality purposes, PNGs and GIFs are the best option.

GIFs offer a great result, if the image contains up to 256 colors.

As Sergey said, it all depends on the purpose you need.
