How do I programmatically change the properties in an OLEBound object?

I want to update the properties of the olebound object in a General field directly through code. Then I want to print a report which contains the olebound control with the properties changed.

Currently, I bind the general field in my table to an OLE Container Control. I then programmitcally change the properties in the OLE Container control, save the container contents to a temporary file. Append the temporary file back to the general field in my table. And then print my report.

It seems as though there must be an easier way!
