>With all due respect, Brenda...isn't the point of a modal window that it is forced to be _the_ active window? Do you simply need to change it to modeless?

>>modal form creates a browse window with nowait. i never want the browse window to hide behind the modal form. i always want the browse window to be active. i ...snip

i know it is not slick. but a major 2.6 to 5.0 conversion and we do not have time to convert all the browse windows to grids. have a modal form that issues a browse window that displays in the middle of the form, much like a grid would. if the user clicks on the modal forms buttons to add, delete, etc, i perform the necessary logic, but then keyboard '{f1+cntl}' so that the browse window will reappear. this worked well in 2.6. but now if 5.0 if the user clicks on page1 of the modal form, i have not been successful in placing my keyboard command at the right spot to make the browse window reappear. want to know where to place my keyboard command when the client clicks on page1 (why they would do this, who knows, but they do) the browse window (their only data input), doesnot disappear from view.

thanks - brenda
