In the U.S. we have 'Sadie Hawkins' dances where the lady asks the gentleman to the dance. Sometimes, dance numbers at non-Sadie-Hawkins dances are called 'Sadie Hawkins dance' or 'Ladies Choice' numbers where the lady asks the gentleman of her choice to dance.
