You'll either have to use ODBC to access the dBase files or make a copy of it that FoxPro can open which isn't going to work very well since you appear to be wanting to change the data which will not work because of the memo file differences and the fact that you'll possibly invalidate the Dbase .mdx file when you change fields it has indexed.

>I have a vfp30 application that needs to access tables in an accounting program using what appears to be dbase tables. I can read the table from inside vfp, but vfp informs me it will convert the table's memo fields (also stating that the conversion can be undone). When I ok the conversion, read the file, modify the file, and then use the suggested "COPY TO filename TYPE" command the file is corrupted and the accounting application can't read it. Is there a way to make this happen without corrupting the file?
