Hi Kevin,

Hope you are doing well.

Question…

I have a mere mortals business object with some methods that pull data into a dataset and into some observable collections that when test stand-alone with the test bench works properly giving me the results that I am expecting.

But the problem that I am having is that when I new-up an instance of the business object in a non mere mortals WPF window code behind page and execute the same method I just tested it gives me a NULL reference exception error. I copied the APP.CONFIG file from my business object project into my generic WPF window project and have made reference to the appropriate business object assembly… but it seems it cannot talk to the databases. The error is so generic that I am not sure what I am missing.

So my question is… what am I missing in my solution and WPF project so that I can create instances of my business objects and execute the methods I need? I assume this can be done.. correct?

FYI… I am using some 3rd party components that allow me to achieve the look and feel I want in my new WPF applications. I am using a Ribbon Window (which has a base class of WINDOW) and an MDI container and document windows that dock with a dock site. The document window classes are actually based off of system.controls.content not window. So my challenge is to get mere mortals to work with the components I plan to use.

So ultimately, I need to implement your ImmBussinessContainer interface by subclassing the DocumentWindow class that I am using to render my MDI windows so I won’t be using your BusinessWindow for my applications. So this is where it is getting complicated… and I may need some of your help also if cannot get this part working correctly. I

But for right now.. if you could please tell what I need to get your business objects working more generically in a WPF project I would greatly appreciate it.
