Hi All, I've got some problems with record and field validation. The situation is as follows: Buffermode is set to 5, i have a fieldlevel validation rule thas says: "field can't be blank and not be 99" (it's a numeric field) The record level validation says the same and also that the number must be present in another table.

Now the problem arises. In a form i issue an apend blank. (so far so good, no validation is issued becourse buffering is on.) When i tab along the fields nothing happens (pitty, would be preferred, but i don't know how to in the DBC) when i issue the tableupdate() function the ... hits the fan: first the field level validation triggers, then the record level validation. I would prefer only one error (but ok, i can live with this)

Then i try tableupdate() again (changed some values, but not the right ones). I persume the field level validation would trigger again on the field i didn't change as it did the first time, but no, only the record level validation triggers. And this is the big problem: Why does the field level validation triggers the first time, but not the second time allthough the field that has a validation is not changed since the first tableupdate() ???

Has anyone a suggestion?
