But "never mind the..." is useful, IMO, though it doesn't mean the same thing. At least I get it as "regardless of...". What I need is a good expression for a "not what with", or (straight translation) "and where to would" (the last is actually an inquisitive interjection, like the French 'pas', albeit without the negative, more like "is it?"), or "and not to mention even...".

Tough - if we didn't have this "a kamo li" construct in Serbian, it would be very very clumsy to build a workaround, so some of the ancestors were smart enough to invent it and to make it spread fashion like, so it is now part of SCBM stabdard,
